Fist of Legend (1994)
I like Gordon Chan films and Fist of Legend is no exception. Normally I am not a fan of remakes (Bruce Lee’s Fist of Fury) but Fist of Legend is amazing! Action choreography by Yuen Wo-Ping, Produced and staring Jet Li! I enjoy the Chen Zhen stories, and for a fictional character he has almost achieved a Folk Hero status. If you have seen Fist of Fury then you will already know the story, however I think that Fist of Legend is the best homage out of all the Chen Zhen stories (that I have seen so far). I rented the copy I watched from LoveFilm.com. I’m ashamed to say I’ve not gotten around to purchasing this film yet. Fist of Legend is one of those action films that you just must see!
Ni Kuang really created a legendary story with Chen Zhen. I’ve not seen another film have so many remakes and tv shows that was not originally a novel or a folk hero.
