Brotherhood of Blades (2014)

Brotherhood of Blades is a gripping tale about three friends who are Imperial Assassins.  The story is very well done and it shows how no hero is without sin, especially when dealing with the political intrigue and paranoia of the Ming Dynasty. The movie rarely slows down and handles both the action and political conspiracy very well.

I had the same feeling after watching Brotherhood of Blades  as I did the first time I watched Tsui Hark’s New Dragon Inn back in the 90s. The acting is well done and I really enjoyed Chang Chen and Wang Qianyuan’s performance. The costumes are phenomenal and won Best Costume Design in the 51st Golden Horse Awards. The film is very enjoyable to watch and I recommend watching it on BluRay.
